Hey Lady in the purple fleece, walking a pug and another small dog on the highway by Rona this morning around 10:30, I saw you toss a white bag with what was likely dog droppings into a shrub by the train bridge....nice job!!!

That is one of my biggest beefs!
Inconsiderate dog owners that chuck their dog droppings anywhere or better yet the owners who are to lazy to pick up after their off leash dogs. Why can't people just obey the laws?

This is what I don't understand:

A dog has nature call. Does his or her thing, if its off a trail or playing field what's the big deal? Now you get people picking it up wrapping it in plastic and creating a bio-hazard with it (I'm referring to the plastic). The off leash areas have got to have places to deposit the stuff otherwise it is just creating more mess.

This goes back to that common sense thing again... People just don't have any these days.

We go out geocaching on a regular basis and there is nothing worse than seeing something hanging from a branch inside a tree or bush and just before touching it finding out it is a bag of dogdoo. Toss the stuff in the bottom of the bush (fertilizer) and put the bag in your pocket LADY!

Sense ain't common no more :|

I have two medium to large sizedogs and their poo is huge, I would hate to think of it being stepped in by anyone cutting across a playing field. There must be 30 dogs I see regularly on my walks with them. If no one in my neighbourhood picked up their dog poo there would be heaps of stinking dog poo all over. If the dogs are pooing in a playing field, what happens when someone wants to "play" there, are they going to get your dog poo all over them?

We have a lot next to me that is going to be developed in the next few months. I see maybe 15 dogs per day poo in that lot and no one picks it up, because hey, it's just a vacant lot. When someone does start developing the lot, just imagine what they are going to find when they get their machinery in there. Yech.

If there was only one dog pooing in an area, maybe I could see it, but we are talking lots of dogs pooing all over the place... And if there is no problem with not picking up the dog poo, how about letting your dogs poo in your yard and just leave it there...

After saying all of that, I have to say I would rather someone leave the dog poo than throw it out with in a plastic bag.

Any doggie poo bags that you get from pet stores or the one you use from the dispensers that the city provides are bio-degradeable (sp?) so the environment isn't an issue.
Just pick up the s--- so other people don't walk in it.

I totally love animals. Some pet owners are just plain non considerate whether it be the poo issue or walking their dogs in public. As I sit having my smoke on my stairs I see many older ppl walking their dog. They let there dogs s*** in ppl gardens and could not careless about someone elses's domain. I have walked to work many a times and the older folks let their dogs S*** on the sidewalks.

Where am I going with this? The older ppl seem just as ill responsibilty as some young. I see it everyday! I still love animals but pet owners need to show respect!

The animals are not to blame but the ignorant are!

I just want to gag when I think of picking up animal poo so if I was to take a dog for a walk it would be in the off paths somewhere! Not in a residential area, park or field. On the other hand get your animal out for some exercise and let him/her do the one hell of a good S**** because it is being kind to them!!!

Just remember when you have to take a crap there ain't nothing going to stop you! LOL

PS: I do not think that I would ever empty a poo bag and then stick the plastic bag it in my pocket! Gag me with a spoon, that is disgusting!

Well at home here as the snow recedes it's exposed discarded bags of dog poo...I've often wondered why the city doesn't put out more garbage cans, not just for dog business either!
I was quite shocked to see a Nanaimoite toss a bag like that though...who knows, maybe it was a biodegradable type (not likely it was a white bag)......
