Hi there, This was my original post on this home.

    http://www.nanaimoinformation.com/fo...ead.php?t=2133

You can no longer see anything from the highway & also no signs of any construction. I also noticed that their application for heritage status on the home was removed from the City of Nanaimo website immediately after the fire. Don't know who owns the property at this time, but it sure looks like a nice piece of land. Nice view of the harbour. Type the address from my first post into Google maps & you'll see the location. Thanks

It's a darn shame the house burned down. I would had liked to had seen it or know the history of it, who lived in it, when it was built, etc..

I wonder who owns that huge piece of green space that the house was built on? It's a beautiful area.

Don't know who the current owner is but I would sure wish it was me!!!! Nice property.
From what I understand it was called the Hunt Estate. There evidently was a larger home owned by a coal baron on the property at one time. The home that recently burnt down was built for one of his bultlers, family etc? Don't know alot more about it. I have done a lot of Googling for more info, but thats about all I could find. If anybody knows more about it, I would love to hear. Thanks

The barn was destroyed by fire on Tuesday Nov 11th 2008.

Chief Tzouhalem was my Great Great Grandfather, and apparently a very evil man whom tried to kill his whole bloodline so that he would be the only one with Power of some kind. I was told that he was murdered adn that he was decappitated and his head placed on a long stick and road up and down both sides on Van Island so that all would know he was dead and they could rest in place. But story has it that he continued to haunt in death. My grandmother was Madeline Canute, his grand daughter, and she would tell me horror stories of this man. Many have seen his ghost down on Tzouhalem Rd walking by our family graveyard, St Mary's Church. And also he has been seen on Mt. Tzouhalem, also if you are driving from downtown Duncan, look up at the mountain and you will see that the highest bluff is his nose, from there u will notice that the mountain is a statue of him laying down dead, it is very cool. So remember the highest bluff is his nose, then u will see the eyes lips forehead and everything following. It is very errie to see this at night with the creepy fog. But yes that is as much as I know oh him. He was just as evil as anything and he had great powers in his words. He left bodies everywhere he went and even killed his own family members.

    Default east wellington rd haunting

The haunted place on east wellington has been torn down.
my friends and i one night had gone to this place and decided to take a video hearing rumors about it being haunted. We never expected to find anything
but there was a room with a young kids bed and a rocking horse in the corner my friends had had a bad feeling about the rocking horse so i took a video on my phone of them standing by it when they had taken a light to the rocking horse we realised on the video that there was a little girl staring at one of my friends and as i moved a little closer the girl turned her head towards me.
scariest thing i have ever witnessed.

There had been other things in the house but this one had been more clear than the rest. In the back living area, (i can't be sure) i thought i saw something that looking like actual people as soon as they were there they were gone so i can't be sure.

Wow, this is a big thread and I don't intend to read all of it because I'm lazy, haha. But I looked at those pictures of Mt Tzouhalem, oh wow! This is totally a place I will visit when I get there. My question would be, how accessible is this place? If it's drive only, I am SOL, haha.
Let's remove all the warning labels and let the problem sort itself out
