    Default Westwood Lake.

Westwood Lake was a place I had heard a lot about. And heard a lot of good about. But unfortunately had never seen it myself. On my most recent trip to Nanaimo, on the second day I was there, and after my shopping at Woodgrove was done, QueenE, her husband, daughter, and I went up to Westwood Lake. I mentioned to them that it was a place I wanted to see, and I had a few questions I asked about it, such as where in Nanaimo it was. It was quite a drive from Woodgrove to there, but it was worth it. What a nice place it is. Lived up to the hype. Would have been nicer if the weather was better, but still it was nice to see, and nice they took me up. The road from Woodgrove to there was an eye opener too, as it took me through areas I'd never seen before when in Nanaimo. I'd love to get back to Westwood Lake, and it was also nice to broaden my horizons on Nanaimo. A good Nanaimo outdoors experience I wanted to share.

If you like the lake you are going to love the hiking behind it.

If you like Westwood Lake you should check out the MANY other hiking trails Nanaimo has to offer. Extension Ridge, Cable Bay, Ammonite Falls are among many !!!

I'd believe the hiking behind Westwood Lake is really good too, and the many other Nanaimo hiking trails are ones I'd love to hike on one of my future trips up.

I assume you took the Jinglepot Rd. route?....I like that road because you take such a nice leisurely drive on a "country road" without leaving town!

Yes that was the route we took. The road does have a rural, country feel to it.
