Although I think Shambhala is a weekend concert...I may go to that, depending on funds and if I can get a ride, lol. Good to know the prices. Thanks for the info. I will have to look into this more later in the summer.
Even if you don't go this year you can always plan for it next year. This always sells out and todate just over 4000 tickets are unsold out of 10,000 tickets. But don't kid yourself it will sell out by the end of June if not sooner.

Quote:it depends... the renegade ones that happen in the woods are either free or $5-$10.

These ones are the ones the police will shut down before they start if they get wind of it. Access to the spot is usually done by dialing a cell number. These ones I would be very very careful attending. Most definately not alcohol/drug free and all ages attend.

Slap me for posting this but it is true!

these are the type that i mostly throw. they usually happen without the cops shutting them down unless they're advertised everywhere on facecrack. I have my first aid and so do most of the sound staff, and we have trained security guards on site as well, so they're not as dangerous as you may think :P hahaha if anyone has gone to a rave on vancouver island in the past 5 years, i can guarantee they've called my cell phone # for directions :P

Yeah I'd really like to go to Shambhala. It looks so amazing.

    Hahah. Facecrack.

I'm really careful at any party I go to. I've never been to an outdoor so that would be kinda cool. Not like you could ever throw a rave outside in Ottawa, not really much place to do it, lol.

Back in Calgary we used to go all the time. It was hard to get drugs into the Rave since you get patted down and you can not take tic tacs in or gum they even check your smokes. But they do not sell alcohol at any of the Raves I have been to in Calgary. Most sell a lot of water and energy type drinks.

There were always paramedics and police there incase someone did take drugs before they got in or some how got drugs inside. I have seen a few OD's at raves but I guess some ppl need to do other things to get that Natural high from the music.

Havent been to a rave here in Nanaimo, havent heard of one and prolli do not know the right people either to hear about one LOL They are fun and the music is just kick ass

Want to avoid the $230 fee? just volunteer! Me and 2 friends are going to Shambhala and volunteering to get our tickets free. I prob would have volunteered anyway cause I am crazy about volunteering but yea, there are always ways to avoid dealing with money in tons of circumstances. Like our ancestors who traded goods there are always ways. I also plan to volunteer at SoundWave too. Fun stuff. Amazing experiences.

i've never been to Shambles... but the first two soundwaves i went to i worked for the soundcrew (my boyfriend at the time worked for FireBoy and Peel Environments) and last year i didnt volunteer. I dont think i'd ever volunteer again... its kinda nice to pay the $200 (or whatever the cost to get into shambles is) and be free for the whole time you're there.

Yea thats true, it is frustrating to be stuck doing work when you see everyone else having fun. Im kinda used to it tho so it doesnt bother me, some fun is more than none & helping out is always needed

I think I would rather cough up the cash especially when it's the first time I've been something. I like to roam freely. But I would most definitely volunteer after going at least once.
