When I was in Nanaimo recently to do my usual shopping, plus a twist, with that twist being a trip to the military museum at North Town Centre, plus a little shopping there, before heading up to Woodgrove, I got a lot of friendly attitudes my way on this trip. One lady got on the bus around Country Club, and sat with me. Fairly nice looking, not much off my own age, and we had a nice chat on the bus on the way up. Went so well, it was almost like I'd met up with her several times before. Plus the volunteers at the military museum were very nice and helpful towards me too. And while at Woodgrove, I found the service at a couple of the stores I went to ( HMV and Shopper's ) very friendly, and helpful, and from the way I saw it it was more than usual. Plus while at Nostalgic gifts, one of the ladies at a close by kiosk as well as the lady at Nostalgic gifts, were extra helpful towards me, as I was struggling a bit with my bags ( when I come to Nanaimo I really shop, and come back with many bags ). The help from the lady at the kiosk was unexpected but greatly appreciated. Plus once I got back to town, I went to Quizno's to grab something to eat, and the service there was very friendly. All that said, I want to say thanks Nanaimo. I always enjoy coming up to Nanaimo, and know Nanaimo people as friendly. This trip the friendliness of Nanaimo really stood out. I didn't really feel like a visitor, but I felt really at home. Friendliness like I experienced is a part of what keeps me coming back, and makes telling people about what a nice city Nanaimo is that much easier. Again thanks Nanaimo. The friendliness is appreciated.
