    Default Children In Resturants

Not sure why these parents feel they can bring their little ones to resturants a expensive one at that and have them be a pest. Its pretty simple parents,if the theres no children menu,it ain,t going to be kid friendly.Save the grief of other diners, shell out for a babysitter(we did) or go to a kid friendly place.

Ah! Sometimes life just dishes out what we see as lemons. Sometimes parents hope they can enjoy what everyone else wants too for an evening out. Worst things can be in life. Yep the young ones are unpredicatable but we love them! It happens and we will continue to encounter those sudden outburst of the young no matter where we go!!

    I agree with Buzz...

Parents need to recognize that there are some things and for that matter some places that the kiddies just need to stay home. As cute as they may seem you don't do any one favours.

I agree with Wyatt and Buzzard. Kids will be kids. Beyond a certain age, their behaviour has already been shaped by their parents, and the kids are acceptable (or not), depending upon how hard their parents have tried to teach them to behave properly. Many kids behave better than adults I've known. I'm one of those people who thinks that far more parents try very, very hard to teach their kids how to behave than some people like to believe.

Below a certain age, no one can predict what a child might do. They're simply at "that age." And I'd rather not dine wth them in a restaurant that Buzzard's described as being obviously not "kid friendly". Bringing kids into an obviously "not kid friendly" restaurant when they're so young that their behaviour is unpredictable and they're likely to disturb other diners isn't fair to anyone. Not fair to bring in kids who are old enough to behave properly, but don't or won't, either.

It's not fair to the servers and the other staff who get "tipped out" by the servers when the size of the tips left by diners has been cut down or tips just aren't given, because of kids whose parents should never have taken them there. It's the fault of the kids' parents, not the servers.

As a parent of children, I totally completely agree...

And I love going out for dinner WITHOUT my kids so that we can have ADULT time.. only to have to listen to someone else's brats!

Leave the kiddies home along with your cell phone!

I think there is a time and place for everything, including children! I've been to the movie theater a few times for "non-kid" like movies, where I'm guessing they were just too cheap to afford a babysitter. Not very appropriate!

Ok I take back what I said! It was just a random write. I have to admit when our son was young we would never have taken him to an adult type resturant.

When he was about 3/4 years old we decided to stay in a hotel in Parksville on the ocean for 2 nights. Short story, it only last one night! Dinner in the resturant was not enjoyable and carried on to the hotel room. He had to touch every button in the hotel room, open and close the refridgerator, turn on the heat to make us say * that's it, we are going home, bad idea!* LOL

Then later on that summer we decided to rent a cabin on Mary's Lake on Salt Spring Island! Now that was nice!!

Kids are great! Just not for every occasion. My personal favourite is catching the ferry, where the kids section sits near empty, and people with screaming babies and playing children all decide they can't sit near each other so they each sit in different sections of the boat.
