Anyone try the kegs from Fat Cat Brewery? I know lots of people that use them when putting on special functions.

I too imbibe regularly with a nice brew!....I've only moved to town about a year ago and really enjoy both the Fat Cat offerings, as well as the Longwood brews. I try to support the locals especially when they make such a good product and wonder why there is a need for the stuff from Vic and Van when we've got perfectly good beer here?...
....As for wine....I feel pretty much the same way but can't see why the local island wine (and the BC mainland wine) is so expensive?...There's got to be some way that we can compete with stuff that's shipped half way around the world in spite of our higher production costs?
I don't find the local stuff (island grown) expensive - I guess you get what you pay for, small batch better quality I don't know. GBV is my absolute favorite right now.

I've always wanted to make my own wine and one day I think I just might. I'll start with blackberry wine. One of my friends has a grandfather in Errington who does this as a hobby and I was fortunate enough to have her introduce me to him. Very interesting gentleman who let me taste his homemade wine. I also met a retired Navy vet in Mill Bay who also made his own wine. His wife was french and she got him started. They gave me a bottle of blueberry and a bottle of raspberry wine. He was, at the time, making carrot wine which was also suprisingly good! Some day....![]()
