On-Shore fishing
Hi,
I know, this forum is about Nanaimo. But does anybody happen to know some good fishing spots (on shore) in Ladysmith?
Thanks everybody,
Jeff

that is a great site no doubt. I'll save you some time and let you know that the entire ladysmith coastline is shut down for chinook retention to protect the cowichan run, you can see the map by following this link http://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fm-gp/r...0/17-co-ch.pdf . the best place I know of is rocky point in nanaimo you can cast off the rocks best time is the end of august when the freaser fish show up and stage in nanaimo waters before heading accross to the mainland. I used to fish down there and saw a few hot evenings with multiple hogs hitting the rocks, I even caught about a 20lb spring there once, so it can offer up a nice fish every now and again, hotest lure MacDeep . You can also cast off neck point you need a low tide to get over there. a cool trip for you could also be over to galiano you could cast off the rocks at dionisio point it is an incredible park, there`d likely be other spots off the east side of galiano. You still could fish in ladysmith but if you got a nice spring you`d have to release it, so yoùr probably better off driving to nanaimo and fishing at rocky point or even neck point.

Nads, thank you for that fishing site! My girlfriend and I love our fishing! We will be in Vancouver at the beginning of October and we will definitely be making some day trips to a few of those sites! It is definitely going to be a highly useful tool as we will be living there for the foreseeable future!
