Speeding drivers in B.C. could lose cars
Drivers caught speeding excessively will risk having their cars impounded starting this month. The new punishment was announced by Solicitor General Mike de Jong.
Starting Sept. 20, a charge of excessive speeding will trigger a mandatory seven-day impoundment for a first offence, a 30-day impoundment for a second, and 60 days for subsequent excessive-speeding offences within two years, according to a news release from de Jong.
