I shall call them "area 1" and "airea 2" yuk yuk. Guess away.

That was taken just around the corner from the Duke Pt Ferry terminal..thats the Queen of Alberni ( notice 2 stacks..Queen Of New Westminster only has a single) arriving..the mill used to be owned by Doman's..Western now I think..
Thats taken right in front of the Moby Dick Motel..notice the new condo's being built on Stewart Ave..
yup it's the Western owned mill... I was standing in the abandoned mill next door to take the picture.
It was fairly easy but still.. how many air shots can you get? That one was taken in June.. on the way to Vancouver (its originally a video).

Sorry, Ronzo got it ... It's the Mill before Duke Point Ferry... Pictures taken from the closed mill at Near Jacks Point Parking lot. The second in the "Panorama" shot is me turning 30 degrees and taking another shot.Originally Posted by grommet

Driving south from Nanaimo, take Cedar Rd. either directly from the New Parkway (Highway #?) or by turning left at the Cedar Road intersection off Highway 19a (Old Island Highway).
Continue, you will pass over a steel bridge, and reach a stop sign (I believe there is a sign that says "cable bay trail" with an arrow). Turn right onto the Overpass onto MacMillan Road. You will reach Millway Store and turn left onto Holden Corso Road (before reaching the highschool).
Go straight, when you reach a fork go to your left - that is Barnes Road which is a very nice S-curve, in about 5 minutes you will see a sign on the left saying "Cable Bay Trail". You'll see the parking area.
If I had a napkin, old reciept or scap of paper I would draw you a map. I tried using Google Earth but where I say the Cable bay trail is looks far from Dodds Narrows... It's not that long of a walk to the lighthouse.
After finally finding this place - a case of girlymapitis - we took the dogs and offspring here. It was so much fun! Rope swing, Jurassic parkish, lotsa interesting nooks and crannies.....and only 2 other people. Who knew? Thanks for the info.Originally Posted by nathanenge

If you try to fail, and you succeed, which have you done?.
Here are two I took last summer. They should be pretty easy for seasoned veterans.![]()
