A nice, long walk usually does the trick for me. We're so fortunate in Nanaimo to have such great trails and areas. I think the important thing is to get outside during winter.
I agree about getting out, if you don't have a dog to walk, borrow one! There are alot of folks that don;t have the time nor inclination to walk Fido, and it would give you and the dog the reason/excuse to get up and out
I don't know how expensive the Indoor Rock Climbing is , but its an option .

The harbourliving.ca mailing list has lots of great suggestions. They usually have at least one free event listed . . . e.g. http://www.harbourliving.ca/event/ga...ter-art-affair
Oh that looks like a great idea, Thanks for the link, Pastilla =)
Yes, I have to agree, especially about the rosy cheeks lol..get the blood flowing. Logical ideas and a little support can go a long way sometimes.. =)
a long walk holding a cup of hot coffee is the best thing to do in winter and if someone very special is holding you that time , that will be one of the best time of your life .
Well, my idea for winters is to go for long drives with your romance partner, make enough romance, enjoy parties, make fun, have coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner, supper and enjoy everything you can.
Harbour Living is great to find out what is going on locally. My wife and I like to go for coffee on the harbour front.
Other ideas include:

- take a course
- local music scene - open mics, singer/songwriter circle
- volunteer
- meet friends for coffee/cards/games
