Info. Needed: Rock n Roll/Punk music venues past & present in Nanaimo/Vancouver Isle

Greetings! My friend is going to write a book about the Canadian rock n roll/punk music scene. He asked me about past/present venues that are in Nanamio and/or Vancouver Island. I'm in my 30's and was never really into the music scene so I would love some info that I could pass along. They don't all have to be the nicer places either. The seedier stories are particularly interesting to him!

The Double Dragon Inn that used to be at Terminal Park Mall used to have some punk gigs in the 80's and the Cedar Hall had it's fair share of gigs in the 80's-90's.

Punk related: Some of the Squamish Five hid out at the auto court on Esplanade and Milton after they bombed the power station.
