I know this thread's supposed to be about botanical photos, but I don't know where else to put this cool link:

Anyone know why so many of these bushes ("Madrona"?) are looking like this? Is it a blight, or is it just from the drought last summer?

Not a good photo, but I wanted to post it here - some salal berries on Newcastle Island.

This year there was only two... But, in our defense, the tree was just one mostly dead branch when I rescued it. The Peach tree now has leaves and at least six branches... we should get a good haul next year.
**These were the most delicious peaches I have ever tasted**
Wow, alas - that's great that the two peaches you DID get were such good specimens.
Some rose hips from my yard - photo taken in late September.

Hi all,
I woke up early this morning expecting rain.....and was pleasantly surprised to see a beautiful sunny morning..So I decided to pack my little point and shooter along with me on my Colliery/Morrell/Westwood walk (it's a morning staple for the wundermutt and I) Anyways, here's a few pics of the scenery and some friends we met along the way.
Cheers,
Al

Holy crap, Al.
That one with the leaves and the reflection made me suck in my breath, it is so startingly beautiful.
Is that a salamander? How'd you find it? Were you and the wundermutt turning over logs?
