Rant: Lucid, Downtown Nanaimo
I normally have really good experiences and enjoy when I go downtown to shop and check out stores downtown. However, yesterday I popped into Lucid (on commercial street).
I walked in and there where about 3 girls at the cashier/counter. None of them said "Hello, how are you?" or anything.
It was a very uncomfortable and rude, pretenious feeling. I felt as if I was just a pain in the butt being in there, but they didn't seem to even notice anyone was attempting to shop, as they talked loudly and pretty much ignored there was a customer in there the whole time I was in there.
I won't be going back, which is unfortunute because they have some cute clothes in there. With an atmosphere and "customer service" like that, who would.

Anti-Rant, Lucid Nanaimo
I had a totally different experience with Lucid when I went down there.
I am new to Nanaimo and being from Europe, I was looking for a shop with a little more originality/quirky style. I stumbled upon Lucid and upon entering I was greeted by a busy female shop assistant, she asked me if I needed any help, to which I replied that I did, as I was from out of the area and could she help me out with a bit of information about the shop.
She filled me in with her knowledge of the brands, and we actually ended up talking for a good while. She was not the slightest bit pretentious, and other customers were acknowledged when entering the shop despite our lengthy conversation.
Aside from the excellent customer service I've received from several different staff members from subsequent visits to the store, in my opinion the stock is far superior to any other shop in the downtown area. For quality, variety, originality and my favourite aspect; quirkiness.
I guess when I googled the shop to see if they had an online store to order some clothes, I was surprised to see a negative thread and wanted to let everyone know that it's an awesome store and the customer service I've received has been faultless!

Perhaps it was just the day I went in there. They do have nice stuff in there. Anyways, glad to hear you had a good experience there!

That is unfortunate, I've had some bad experiences at local restaurants too - but I tend to give them a "3 strikes" your out rule, as I usually find it's possible to have an unpleasant experience, then go back and have a great experience!

You should check out Funk Your Fashion on Commercial. The staff are super-nice. I can walk in there looking totally unfashionable and disheveled and they are still nice
