    Default Nanaimo drivers are horrible

How many more people have noticed that Nanaimo sure has its share of speeders, tailgaters and ROAD BULLY'S. Its getting ridiculous when even the RCMP are not worried about setting a good example. How about all those with N's on the back doing 20-30 and more over the speed limit. Seen two young gals this week both had N's talking on the cell phone, tailgating and smoking a cigarette, are they steering with their knees? Really folks I am originally from Vancouver and have been driving many years Nanaimo's roads and highway are becoming very scary.

Default Police car parked in school zone cross walk

At about 12:20 p.m. today I observed a police car parked so that it blocked a cross walk on Dover Road in a school zone. There was no shortage of other places to park. I have more than a bit of difficulty understanding why it was necessary to park in that spot. The emergency lights were not flashing.

I agree with the original poster that the police here often set a poor example. Perhaps the officers in question have been in Nanaimo too long and have picked up their bad habits from the locals.

1: The RCMP has there own road rules. We have no worries to question this??? They are under contract with complete control of our society.!! Yes they do!
2: Those talking on cell phones while driving: I strongly suggest we blast our car/truck hones at them them while they are talking on the cell phone and at the same time give them the middle figure!

I really have to agree the cell phone addiction needs to be addressed fully. Lets get that fine at 2X the amount of $167.00.

The reason I am so totally for a greater fine is the other day while my husband and I were on the road a car wondered into our lane with no car signal. That is because the driver was talking on the cell phone and was clueless of his/her driving abilitites.

I have no patience for this ignorant form of thinking.

What ever happened to getting a call at home!!
