Welcome! Have you been here before? I run a Vancouver Island based review and informational blog about the surrounding area events, restaurants, things to do, etc etc. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions at all! Have a great week.

I don't even know where to start lol I have so many questions since I have lived in Winnipeg all my life. We are very excited to start fresh in a new province. My husband is a heavy duty mechanic and I work part time in retail, we have 2 small children one is in school full time. We are hoping it won't be too difficult to find jobs. The biggest worry I guess would be the difference in cost of living. The rentals that I have come across are way nicer and more affordable then Winnipeg. The housing market also seems to be better for buyers out there then here. Looking forward to participating in this forum thanks for the warm welcome

No I have never been to BC but my husband lived on the mainland 10yrs ago. I am looking forward to getting away from our brutally cold winters here in MB.

What you will miss the most being from Winnipeg is the sunshine.
Nanaimo is not as sunny as Winnipeg by any means.

Nope, the west coast is not sunny. It is however not freaky cold and I don't think I even own a snow shovel. Been meaning to get one for a few years now because there is the odd day when it would come in handy but then the snow just melts before I get around to buying one so I still don't have one.

It's not so sunny here in the fall, winter and early spring. But the payoff is the summer time, the rivers, and lakes and mountains covered in huge trees and plant life. So it's all good

Anyway, around here, we truly get to experience the four-seasons, which I can't say for other parts of the world.
