Tried this place the other night....nice atmosphere with the lake view (not much after 5pm at this time of year of course) good food...bit small portions but I believe "bistro" is French for "small portion at high price" is it not? <G>

I hope this place flourishes because it ranks among the best restaurants in Nanaimo, and has a stunning view of the lake. It is owned and operated by the former owners of the Wesley St. Cafe, and the food is excellent. There is generally a three course special for $25.00 which might be the best deal in Nanaimo. The room itself is stylish and the outdoor patio is second to none. I have no idea who the chef is, but the risottos I have eaten on two occasions are delicious. Service is friendly but spotty at times.
