schools and daycare

I have so many questions I don't even know where to begin. Do any/many of the schools in Nanaimo have before and after school care? What is a typical charge for after school care? What are the going rates for 4yr olds in Daycares? Is there a pre-school program my 4yr old can join? In my son's current school here in Winnipeg they have a pre-school program inside the school, it doesn't cost anything and is basically like the kindergarten class...2hrs each morning. I know this is rare as not all schools in Winnipeg do this, usually pre-school is 2-3 times per week for 2.5hrs and costs approx. 70/mth. Is there anyone that can fill me in on what to expect to be paying in daycare costs and if it is hard to find after school care/daycare in Nanaimo?
