Congrats, your lungs thank you! I quit cold turkey 6 years ago this past February. It wasn't easy, the first week was actually easier than the second, but after I got over the two week mark it was a lot better. The cravings stayed around for a good 3-6 months, but it was easy to not give in, it was just still present, lingering in the back ground. Now the smell of second hand smoke on others makes me want to gag, I don't know how I smoked for so long!

How are you making out with the quit?

Don't know if anyone else mentioned it because I didn't read all the replies, but you can avoid nightmares by not using things like the patch overnight. If you take it off at bedtime, or an hour before bedtime, and then place a new one on in the morning you should be ok. Nightmares are a very common side effect of wearing the patch overnight.

Thanks very much for the information, which I only found out a few days ago. But maybe somebody else will find it helpful. If my counting is correct, I'm in Day 68 of my quit. No, it's not easy, there are times in the future when it won't be easy, but it's worth it!
