Default Old wharf near the Departure Bay ferry terminal.

I was walking my dog at Beach Estates park and after realizing the tide was out, continued to walk on the beach. Along the shore there is some kind of old foundation of sorts, and from there it appears as though a wharf once extended out into the bay. I'm wondering if anyone knows what these are from.
I snapped a few pictures with my old cell phone, so they aren't great.

Edit: The title should say wharf... Oops!

Oh, wow, cool, I had no idea the Hamilton Powder Co. was so far to the south.
(Not that I had even heard of it before I was looking at all those photos that Steamer linked to in post #32 of the Departure Bay history thread.)
Now I have to go back to Beach Estates Park and poke around a little more.

    Default Hamilton Powder Co. Wharf

Interesting find! I always wanted to walk the shore of Departure Bay to see if any telltales remain. Your photos prove a walk is in order! Thanks.

Compare your photo with one from the McCord Museum taken over 100 years ago. The angles are not quite the same but I think the land masses in the background prove you found the remains of the Hamilton Powder Company's wharf.
