    Really bad experience this evening with Iron Wok, bad enough to put the place on my permanent boycott list.

    Called about 5:40 pm to order one dish for carry out. I was told the kitchen was busy and it would be 30-35 minutes. I said that's fine, so the IW took my order. I arrived to pick up my food about 6:12, 32 minutes after ordering. Two young ladies working the restaurant. One found my order and placed the ticket atop the till. I stood at the front counter for about 15-20 minutes, watching the goings on. In a word: Chaos. From my vantage point I could see three tables of patrons, perhaps 14 people total. None had food on the table. The servers were confused, baffled, and frustrated with the kitchen and each other, and made little effort to hide that fact, though they knew I was watching and listening. Both ignored me after an initial greeting. After ~18 minutes of waiting, I asked the server who'd taken my order and forecasted 30-35 minutes, if my order was even on the horizon. As she went to the kitchen, the other server told me they weren't taking carry out orders. I said mine was taken, and I'd just like to know if I was going to get it, so I could leave if not. She said "I totally understand." The server who took my order emerged from the kitchen, shook her head, and said they're really busy. No apology, no explanation for why she took my order and told me 30 minutes, no nothing. I just turned and left after wasting my time and the gas to drive over there.

    That's the last time I go to Iron Wok! And I predict the place will be out of business before year's end.

    My guess is that you happened to go on a really bad day for them. I've been there like 20 times and although I don't always get the cheeriest service I really like it there and have never had issues like this.

    Iron Wok has been on my no-go list for a few years.
    Bad service, not once but several times.
    Bad attitude, every time.
    When I go out to eat, I am doing the business a favour, not the other way around.
    You don't want to serve me properly, I am gone.

    Default A Miracle that Iron Wok is still open

    I stopped going to Iron Wok two years ago after first recommending the restaurant. Three consecutive visits resulted in slow and indifferent service. Tables were rarely bussed and the waitresses informed me they were intimidated by the chef. Too bad because the food was decent.

    I've been multiple times. Service sucks but the food is pretty decent.
