Default Hi from St. Albert, AB

    Hi there,

My husband and I will be moving to your beautiful city within the next 12 months I'll be reading up on threads of life in Nanaimo and if you can think of anything specific I should read up on that would be great also

I would be transferring through work there and I think the main reason we're most excited is that we'll be on the Coast again. I'm originally from Portland, Oregon but lived on the Oregon Coast when I was younger. I've been in Canada for 11 years now.

Anyways I look forward to getting to know more about Nanaimo

    Take Care,

    Fiona

Welcome HappySoles. We are originally from Calahoo, Alberta, just 15 minutes from St. Albert. We've moved to Nanaimo two years ago and love it! So much activity, and so much natural beauty. We do miss our prairie thunderstorms though!

    Default Moving soon, too.

My husband and I recently listed our house in Edmonton for sale and hope to be moving to Nanaimo by fall. We already have a house in Nanaimo. We'll be retiring at the same time. We can't wait!! I am going to miss my daughter and 2-year old granddaughter, though. That will be the toughest thing. Thank God for Skype, texting, etc. that will help us keep in touch. And I'm excited to be able to show them around to all the cool things we've already discovered in the area.

Our family moved from the Edmonton area 3 years ago, and yes ... we do miss the prairie thunderstorms! but definitely NOT the winters! It's a fabulous place to live and we're only just beginning to explore our new environment. One of the nice things about living here is that there's hardly ever a day when you can't get outdoors (if you want to), it's a special place even when it's raining!

    Enjoy!

Hi Fiona and husband. I have some extended family living in St Albert and Darwell. I think you will like it here.
