Former Nanaimo boxer selected to be a Hall of Fame honorary director

Kevin Maughan has recently been picked as one of three
life honorary directors for the BRITISH COLUMBIA AMATEUR BOXING
HALL OF FAM. The other two include former Prince George coach andfessional
boxer MANDY LAPOINTE from Prince George but living in Las Vegas.
For Nanaimo, Kevin was a well known boxer in the Seventies shen
he started boxing and training at the Nanaimo Boxing Club. In
1975, "Booper" would become the first Nanaimo boxer to receive
the special "Most Dediated Boxer" award donated by the late Dorothy and
Sid Runacres.
