    Kate,
Although my last name isn't Bowater, I have a strong Bowater heritage, my paternal Grandmother was a Bowater, one of my uncle's middle name was Kitchener, another uncle's middle name was Bowater.....I grew up across the road from Mr. Bramley, I remember my Dad helping him build the rock fence that still stands there today, as does the house that he lived in, although extensively modified and updated by the current owner. Did you ever attend one of the Bowater family reunions at Field's Pool (For All Season's) back in the 60's?
Oh, and BTW..I was up in Extension this week to visit some family at my old home, and the yellow cherries are still just as good .... : )
    Cheers,
    Al

    Hi Al,

Well, I guess we are related, as Kitch was my uncle too. My great uncle actually. By marriage, his wife Jean was a Bramley descendent.

I don't think I was ever at a Bowater reunion, but I bet Verna Wargo was...
Which Mr. Bramley did you grow up across the road from? I'm very, very curious as to how things unfolded in the Bramley family...do you know much? Or might your family know and be willing to share old stories?

We were just there yesterday, as I might have mentioned in another post and will be going back again.

Any help you can be, (referring me to folks, whatever, I would really appreciate)

    ~ Kate

Here's a look at the old wrecks sitting in the bush to your right as you enter Extension.

Are the yellow cherries you refer to, what I would call Japanese plums? There was a great tree on Extension Road, right by the houses in front of First Lake.

Is there a First lake on Extension road? The only First lake I know of is way down Nanaimo Lakes rd - didn't know there were houses there.

I too lived in Extension late 60's and most of the 70's.We lived on Godfrey road.Remembering Doms barn and sneaking there to take a look at his big old bull and getting caught.Fun times, have lost contact with everyone there over the years.Remembering Mrs Hitchen our school teacher and yes the two room school house, lol. And cannot forget the coal pile always playing around on it and getting dirty.Time has slipped by so fast.
