Red circle shows approximate location of Hammond Bay areaHammond Bay is a smallish body of water, but the name is often used for a larger area in North Nanaimo (between Dover Bay and Departure Bay), because Hammond Bay Road is the main route along this stretch of hillside overlooking the ocean.
Most of the homes in Hammond Bay are nicer than the average house, built to appreciate the stunning ocean views and all of the greenspace and mature landscaping that is typical of this area.
There are 20-30 year old properties (larger lots), and there are newer waves of development. The hilly terrain spaces the homes out nicely, making it appear as a quaint village over Pipers Lagoon at night.
Along bus routes? Yes.
