Hospital Area

The red circle indicates the location of the Hospital area

Here's why the Hospital Area is a desirable place to live in Nanaimo:

  • Neighbourhood culture is friendly and down-to-earth
  • The homes are varied and often interesting (even historic) architecturally
  • Most properties have decent-sized yards with mature foliage
  • Properties are affordable

As the name implies, there is a hospital here, as well as other care-related faciltities. Helicopters and ambulances are frequently coming and going at the hospital, but it's pretty quiet otherwise.

The Hospital Area is a good entry point for people who want to try living in Nanaimo. It's not pretentious, nor very poor (generally); it's pretty, and convenient, and the location is about midway between downtown and the north end of Nanaimo (downtown is slightly closer).

Along bus routes? Yes.
