Skateboarding is alive and well in the City of Nanaimo, with skate shops and parks aplenty, and lots of concrete and railings and stuff.

New to Nanaimo? This is a LONG city. Skating from North Nanaimo to Downtown (or vice versa) is EPIC.

Nanaimo Bowl Skatepark (on CoastalBC.com)
Close to Downtown, between the train tracks and Bowen Park.

Pioneer Skatepark (on CoastalBC.com)
North Nanaimo — behind Canadian Tire, near Woodgrove Centre.

Cedar Skate Park
A modern concrete skate park is still in the works for Cedar, though it's been several years since it was approved. Follow the fundraising and updates on the Facebook site created by the

Flipside Indoor Skate Club
This was on Kenworth St near Country Club mall, but it closed a few years ago. (Correct us if...)

Maffeo Sutton Park
The grinds and ramp that were here, are now gone.
