Westwood
The area called "Westwood" is between Westwood Lake and the Nanaimo Parkway, along Jinglepot Road's southeastern end. Jinglepot itself is very rural, except for here in the Westwood area, which features some nice residential subdivisions.
This area is very convenient for car owners, being a 5 or 6 minute drive from downtown Nanaimo and ten minutes from the North End. Pedestrians and cyclists aren't too burdened, either, though there is a large hill between Westwood and ANYTHING else in Nanaimo. The buses come up here from downtown, every hour between about 7am and 11pm.
The homes in Nanaimo's Westwood area are mostly newer models, or at least were built within the last couple of decades. There are exceptions. Some of the homes have been here since long before the Parkway made this area more accessible. Many of the homes around Westwood have exceptional views of the Millstream Valley, Buttertubs Marsh, and the ocean.
