New Construction Townhomes

Sept 2021 Update: There are expected to be 15 units for sale, starting around April 2022. The homes above the commercial units will likely be kept by the developer.

The corner of Milton and Albert is a well-known local landmark between VIU/Harewood and downtown. It's also the site of the Superette, a great little bodega-style grocery store that's stood the test of time and has a sort of cult fanbase.

The southeast corner of this intersection traditionally had some dilapidated old homes - but those were removed in 2016/2017, and now a mixed-use commercial/multi-family development is under construction. The original submitted plan looked like what you see below, but that project was canceled (I think) and replaced in 2020 with a new but similar plan. As of September 2021, the buildings appear to be all framed up! The development permits at the City indicate that there will be:

  • A 3-storey residential building on the south side (bordering the alley) with 7 units (probably similar to what is seen in upper middle of the below image.
  • A 3-storey building, likely on the corner as seen below, with 3 commercial units and 14 apartment units
  • A 2-storey building with 4 townhome(?) units
