How to get Instant Property Notifications
Although this website CAN send you an email instantly when a property is listed in your desired area/price range, I would actually suggest that I should create that search for you directly in our MLS system, instead of through this website. That's because the MLS system has things like room dimensions, strata/pad fees, and SALE PRICES - things I'm not allowed to post on the website. Contact me if you want a search directly in the MLS (it's called PCS, or Private Client Service - the regulators feel you shouldn't get certain real estate information without being registered for something like this). Or, if you want to just use this website for your search, see below for instructions!
Here's how to save a search:
1) Use my advanced search tool to narrow your criteria according to price range, type of home, size, etc.
Important: You have to click on the magnifying glass after you refine your search criteria!
You may need to open the “More Options” menu to access specific search criteria:
2) Consider drawing a polygon or radius if you have a specific area you want to search within. To do this, you may need to show the map by clicking on this button:
Once you see the map, watch for the polygon/radius options:
You won't be able to save a search if there are 200+ listing results. That's because the search should be somewhat narrow – otherwise you'll get too many emails!
3) After your search criteria are set and you've clicked on the magnifying glass to save your refinements, look for the saved search icon with the heart in it – it looks like this:
4) The system will ask you which “frequency” you'd like for your search. This determines how often/quickly you'll get notifications of new properties. For example, if you choose “immediate”, you'll get an email as soon as a new listing hits the market. Whereas if you choose “daily”, you'll get a single email, once per day, showing all your new listings.
Remember, you can save multiple searches! This is helpful if you're looking in multiple areas, or for different property types, etc.
You can save listings as "favourites" if you'd like to keep them in mind and find them easily, later.
To save a listing, just click the HEART icon on a listing's photo. Then you can access all saved listings from your user dashboard, found in the blue navigation bar under my phone number above. (If you're signed in, it will show your name as a link - if you're not signed in, it will say "Sign In/Sign Up".)
Clear as mud? Need help with all of this? I'm always available for a call and I'd be happy to explain. My number is 250-618-7827 - or you can email me.
