Additional Notes: The location is very interesting - it's in the South End, just a couple blocks from downtown, directly adjacent to the waterfront railyards. This area is expected to develop significantly in the coming years - it's already begun two blocks away on Haliburton St with the Harbourview development, and the City plans to extend the harbourfront walkway system which would further open this area and add value. Two more buildings are planned to be built adjacent to this one, but they will be separate from this strata. You can see one of those future building sites in the photo above.
The two lowest units at Robins Gardens are 589 sqft and 785 sqft, with small patio areas. The other 12 units have balconies and are all about 1345 sqft. The name comes from Samuel Robins, a well-liked manager of one of the mining companies in the 1800s. He established a garden here, using exotic trees donated by ship captains arriving in Nanaimo from abroad. Many of these trees remain on the site and they are HUGE. Residents have a private oasis within these trees, gated off from the street. Balconies on the north side of the building enjoy a CLOSE perspective into this garden (units 102, 202, 203, 302, 303, 402, 403).
