Little Mountain, Parksville
Although the Oceanside area is mostly flat or gently-sloping (though backed by high mountains), there is one great moss-covered crag rising 100m just behind the town.
It's got a pretty ecosystem up top with some trails, but there are SHEER drops without guardrails of any kind. Be very mindful about bringing dogs or children to this area.
There is a parking area with room for only a small handful of cars. I should note that this is not a regional park; it is a property with transmission hardware.
There are boulder fields below this mountain which are thought to have been broken and/or shifted in the great Cascadia earthquake of 1700, and locals used to tell of the 1946 earthquake making noticeable changes to the crevices and overhangs of this crumbly conglomerate mound.
There are many beautiful view homes along the steep road which leads up Little Mountain - please be mindful that this is a residential street with a narrow lane.
