This development is perched high above the bustle and bother of the city – and yet it's only an 8-minute drive from downtown. There are spectacular views of the ocean, the coastal mountain ranges, and Vancouver. You can also see half of Nanaimo, usually with crystal clarity.

These tend to be large homes, some of them built in the late 70s but most are from the the 80s-90s, and there are new ones also being built. Most have huge windows to catch the sunrises. The properties themselves are often steep, with beautiful rockwork and decks and terraces, giving the neighbourhood a very interesting aspect.

College Heights is split into two halves - one is higher up on rocky ground as described above, but the other half is a bit lower, behind the Jingle Pot Pub. The homes down here also have big views, looking north across Nanaimo to the ocean and the distant mountains. These tend to be very nice middle-class homes with neighbours who care about their properties. Although there are some very nice yards, you should be prepared for a lot of ambient noise while outside (the parkway is nearby).

Homes don't become available in this area very often. Contact me if you want immediate notification when a College Heights listing hits the market.
